Pumpkinfest is a seasonal offering from the Terrapin Beer Company in Athens, Georgia. This beer offers a very nice balance of dryness and sweetness.The first few sips reveal a mild spice aftertaste followed by a melange of pepper notes, dried ginger, allspice and a clove finish.
Emotionally this beer struck me like the memory of a good Christmas Eve. Imagine a pumpkin pie cooling on the stove while last minute presents are wrapped in the next room. Pumpkinfest is an extremely pleasant way to begin the evening.
Tastes better as the evening progresses.
Final thoughts: Sweetness level is quite pleasant while not overpowering.
