Notes on Punk'n
If you like this you'll enjoy Dogfish Head's pumpkin offering.
Floats you gently upon a raft of flavors. One sips recalling last spring in Paris or finding a sweaty noodle dive in Tokyo after a day of gallery hunting. It compliments the day but does not coronate it.

Notes on Shipyard Pumpkinhead
The bright side of a gingerbread house in terms of sweetness but I add that note cautiously; the sweetness is polite, it does not intrude upon the palate. Hints of pumpkin pie are fleeting and refreshing.
As the evening turned to night I mused that within this brew one can discover un aller simple (one way ticket) to pumpkin paradise.

Notes on Smutty Nose Pumpkin Ale
Definitely a beer I would drink again. Sophisticated balance between weakness and strength. The sweetness dances comfortably between that of a bagel and a doughnut. Gently thirst quenching.
Pleasantly carbonated with a brown sugar pumpkin fizz. Not a bad post-coital refreshment.

NOTES ON PUMPKINFEST
Pumpkinfest is a seasonal offering from the Terrapin Beer Company in Athens, Georgia. This beer offers a very nice balance of dryness and sweetness.The first few sips reveal a mild spice aftertaste followed by a melange of pepper notes, dried ginger, allspice and a clove finish.
Emotionally this beer struck me like the memory of a good Christmas Eve. Imagine a pumpkin pie cooling on the stove while last minute presents are wrapped in the next room. Pumpkinfest is an extremely pleasant way to begin the evening.
Tastes better as the evening progresses.
Final thoughts: Sweetness level is quite pleasant while not overpowering.
